Accelerated programme for foreign students : 20 months

The ESC Clermont’s Master in Management Program is now open to foreign candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and is taught in French or English.

The ESC Clermont is one of France’s leading business schools and its main degree program, the ‘Diplôme de l’ESC Clermont’ or ‘Master in Management Degree” (MIM), is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, Research & Technology. The ESC Clermont is now opening up its MIM to foreign candidates who speak French or English and who have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in their home country.

What our 4-semester program can offer you!
European, International & Professional Management training
A 6-month executive internship in France or abroad (included in the 4 semesters)
Acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate, innovate and take decisions in a rapidly changing global environment.
The opportunity to develop a broad open-minded management perspective.

Program and Structure

Length of Program
The accelerated program lasts 4 semesters totaling 20 months (14 months of courses – 800 hours) and a 6-month internship.
Courses take place from September to June during the first year and from January to June during the final year.
The 6-month internship should take place during the summer / autumn term of the final year (semester 3).

Language of program and language courses
Candidates can apply to follow the program in either French or English.
Weekly French (optional) courses are available, free of charge to students throughout the academic year.
Students can choose to mix French and English courses after the first semester. A wide-range of optional modern language courses are also offered at various levels, free of charge to all ESC students.

The Program
The program is based on compulsory core courses, elective courses & case studies and is the equivalent of a traditional MBA program (Master’s in Business Administration).
Students are required to take an active part in lectures, assignments, projects and presentations either individually, in groups or small teams.
The 35 full-time professors are assisted by more than 200 adjunct faculty who are mainly professionals from the business world to provide specialized state-of-the-art courses.
The specializations proposed during semesters 2 and 4 are also taught with the cooperation of international professors from partner institutions.

Semester 1 September to December - 4 months.
In Clermont-Ferrand
Management : Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Organization, Strategy, Management control, Law, Taxation, Information systems, English and French language.
Semester 2 From January to May – 5 months.
Either in Clermont-Ferrand or abroad in one of our partner institutions in Europe - 12 countries possible
Management.
 
Semester 3 From June to December. – 6 months
Study internship
Semester 4 From January to June – 6 months
Strategic management and 3 international specialization electives

International Specialization Electives or “certificates” (semester 4)

Marketing: B2B Negotiation, Interactive Marketing, Buying and Marketing, Advertising & Strategy, Sales Management Marketing

Finance: Finance Markets, Management of Financial Products, Financial Auditing and Accounting, Financial Management, Finance, Asset Management

Business Information Systems: Resource Planning for companies, Business Intelligence

Human Resources Management: HRM Consulting & Benchmarking, Project & change management, Junior Manager and management of socio-economic innovation, Process and project management

Strategy & other fields: Entrepreneurship, Management of Cultural enterprises, Management and Intercultural Negotiation, Logistics, Auditing and Management Flows, Project & Process management, Media Relations

 

Admission requirements and procedures

Required qualification: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of 3 or 4 years of higher education
Candidates must complete the application materials and provide certified proof of all qualifications and experience. An interview will also be arranged (if necessary, by phone)
Application deadline: mid-May for Fall admission
A selection committee will meet on a regular basis to examine applications. Applicants will be notified directly of the committee’s decision. If accepted, candidates must pay a non-refundable bank deposit of €1000 to maintain their place on the program. An official letter of acceptance will be sent to students as soon as the deposit has been received.

 

French Administrative Formalities

Non-Europeans must apply for and obtain a student visa before arrival in France. All students must apply for a residency permit within the first three months of arrival (unless otherwise stated on their student visa). All non-European students must purchase full health insurance which will cover all medical costs incurred by accidents and/or illness during the period of studies and work placement/ internship in France. Estimated cost approximately 35€ per month for students under 30. Europeans should apply for E128 or E111 forms before leaving their home country.

 

Tuition & Fees

Fee : € 6 500 per academic year

Total for two year program: €13 000
 

What the tuition and fee covers:
Tuition. Hand-outs & pedagogical materials (not books – approx €300). Tutoring and academic advice for the complete year. Individualized tutoring during the 6-month internship. Access to the multimedia center and computer rooms. Access to Internet and email. Access to Sports facilities. Access to cultural and social activities
Extra services offered to students (free of charge)
Weekly French classes. Evening Classes in a variety of modern and rare languages. International office, services and orientation for foreign students

What is not covered :
Travel. Books. Accommodation & living expenses. Health insurance. Transportation and official administrative fees (visa/ residency permit).

 

Housing

Clermont-Ferrand is a university town and accommodation can be found relatively easily. Some rooms are also available in halls of residences and in private student residences. Groupe ESC Clermont also maintains a list of available housing, local flats and hostels (accommodation costs: approximately 350 € per month)

 

Clermont Business School

The institution is housed in a magnificent 18th century seminary and a recently inaugurated modern extension. Students have 24-hour access to computer rooms, multi-media learning laboratories, an information resource centre, the students’ union and other associations. Students and faculty have access to the Clermont university library and sports facilities.

The school is centrally located, close to a beautiful 11th century Romanesque church and the city’s striking cathedral built in black lava rock quarried from the surrounding hills. Recent renovation and restoration has transformed Clermont-Ferrand into truly a beautiful city with flowered parks, tree-lined boulevards, and paved streets in the picturesque medieval quarter.

 

The city and its surroundings

Clermont, Capital of the Auvergne region, is a hive of activity with its large student population.
The greater metropolitan area is comprised of 340 000 inhabitants, 38 000 students, 6 Graduate Schools of Engineering and 1 Graduate School of Management (ESC Clermont). There are 2 Major Universities, 5 000 full-time researchers, 200 sports associations and clubs.
