higher education

universities and
graduate schools
in engineering
and management
called “Grandes
Ecoles.” ESC
Clermont
Graduate School
of Management is
one of the
oldest of these
“Grandes
Ecoles,”
selecting
students through
competitive
national and
international
entrance
examinations.
1919
The “Ecole
Supérieure de
Commerce de
Clermont-Ferrand
” was founded by
representatives
of the regional
business
community.
1979
Our name was
officially
changed to
“Groupe ESC
Clermont” to
include the
various
educational and
training
activities
organized by the
school. We
adopted an
internationalization
strategy.
1985
Groupe ESC
Clermont was
admitted to the
select inner
circle of top
French Schools
of Management,
the “Chapitre
des Ecoles de
Management de la
Conférence des
Grandes Ecoles.”
1990
We were awarded
First Prize by
the European
Commission for
the quality of
our Erasmus
exchange
programs.
2001
We launched an
ambitious
development
project with the
strategic and
financial
support of the
Clermont/Issoire
Chamber of
Commerce.
2005
Groupe ESC
Clermont becomes
only the 10 th
Business School
in France to
obtain
accreditation by
AACSB
International –
The Association
to Advance
Collegiate
Schools of
Business.
