TEDxESCCLERMONT : A success story for the Master students of ESC Clermont

ESC Clermont opened its doors on the 4th of May to host the first edition of TEDxESCClermont, bringing together 7 speakers transmitting their inspirational stories and welcoming a great audience. The project was realized in collaboration with 10 partners of the school.

Committed to the goal of producing future business leaders and change agents, ESC Clermont has constructed the event as a pedagogical project realized by a group of 43 students of the first-year Master’s, accompanied by 3 faculty members and guided by the Head of the Master in Management programme Mrs. Valme Blanco.

The students were divided into teams of 6 to 7 members: production (search for speakers and coaching), communication (promotion, goodies, partnerships) and organization (logistics, catering, reception, budget monitoring). The teams worked for several months to design, organize and realize the event. This first edition was marked by the desire of its organizers to make it an annual event that is both innovative and impacting.

Project-based learning and active pedagogy offered students not only the opportunity to put the lessons they had learned during the programme into practice, but also to take on responsibility earlier on and to explore the different disciplines of project management, communication, and event management.

The chosen theme of the event was ‘Tomorrow’, placing ideas before people and changing the perception of those ideas. The topics involved included Travelling the world, The internal composition of Mars, Self-development through technology and much more.
