Green Growth, Sustainability, CSR or ESG Taxonomies Are Not and Will Not Be Enough!

Getting to Grips with the Challenges of Green Redirection

All organizations, including local authorities, are facing the challenge of adapting their activities to the limitations of the planet and anticipating the trade-offs that will inevitably arise: the move away from fossil fuels, the abandonment of certain activities, models, and infrastructures, etc. There’s an urgent need for new strategies, and this is what ecological redirection has been proposing for several years.

This course is aimed at students who want to be actively involved in this transitional phase which has become one of the key priorities of strategic policy and subsequent measures for all sectors of activity. Furthermore, students who intend to work in consulting will find the resources to rethink their strategic decision-making offering.

This new course aims to familiarize students with the challenges of ‘greening’ and will provide them with the skills to develop solutions using design and a variety of methods including (field surveys, speculative design, experience design, instance design, etc.).

Real-Life Issues

This specialization course links up with redirection projects initiated within the framework of the MSc Strategy and Design for the Anthropocene Program, developed in partnership with Strate Ecole de Design Lyon.

Numerous studies will be proposed, particularly in the Puy-de-Dôme region, to assess present and future challenges (food security, dependence on fossil fuels and supply chains, etc.). Students will be given the opportunity to meet and share the experience of practitioners of ecological redirection (in the field of urban planning, insurance, communities, mobility…) and get a real perspective of the positioning to be adopted within  organizations and institutions.

3 key points:

A Course Designed to Take Stock of Present and Future Challenges:

  • Food security
  • Dependence on fossil fuels
  • Dependence on supply chains

What About the Future?

This major will give students the skills to develop the positions to which these issues are assigned in organizations, i.e., generally to CSR managers, who are currently torn between available data and the impossibility of taking part directly in strategic decisions.
