ESC Clermont BS Commemorates Its 2023 Graduates.

On Saturday, April 13th, ESC Clermont Business School celebrated the graduation of the class of 2023. In the prestigious setting of the Palais des Congrès – Opéra de Vichy, 510 graduates (out of a total of 1,276 graduating students), accompanied by their families and friends, were honored during a day that brought together more than 2,000 people.

A Memorable Day at the Palais des Congrès – Opéra de Vichy

The morning was dedicated to the graduates of the Bachelor in International Management Program. On this occasion, 216 graduates attended, accompanied by their families and loved ones. At 11 a.m., to the lively notes of Enzo Gomes, a pianist and first-year student, Richard Soparnot, General Director, and Yves Jamon, President of the School, opened the ceremony with their welcome speeches. Then, dressed in their gowns and caps, the young graduates paraded onto the stage before Anthony Mesuron was called up to receive the honors of the class valedictorian!

The event, punctuated by musical interludes performed by Maria Campodonico Garate, also a graduate of the International Management Bachelor’s program on the same day, concluded with an inspiring speech by Lucile Vauquoy, a graduate of the International Management Bachelor’s program and the ESC Clermont BS Master’s Program. Lucile reflected on the defining stages of her journey. Sharing with the audience her successes but also her doubts, her speech primarily reminded everyone that nothing is predetermined, and that true wealth is not always what one believes. For Lucile, richness primarily comes from the encounters we make, the people around us, the experiences we accumulate, and the lessons we draw from each challenge encountered. These invisible and often intangible riches are what shape our character and guide our steps toward the future.

Afternoon Ceremonies for Master’s Programs

Starting at 5 p.m., it was the turn of the graduates from the MBA programs – Executive Master in Management, Specialized Master, Masters of Science, and the Grande École Program to be celebrated. The ceremony opened with a new welcome speech by Richard Soparnot and Yves Jamon, followed by remarks from Géraldine Minguet emphasizing the importance of the word “transition” before inviting the graduates of the Continuing Education programs to join her.

During the afternoon, over 300 graduates and class valedictorians (Jean-Baptiste Alvarez for our MBA, Charly Patingre for our MS in HR, Hagui Chem for our MSc, Claire Contensuzas for our Grande École Program) took the stage at the opera to receive their diplomas. Nicolle Sanjuan, also a graduate of the School, recalled, through music, the resilience and determination of the new graduates by performing “Unstoppable” by Sia!

At the end of the ceremony, a video dedicated to the missions and actions of the ESC Clermont Group Foundation, presented by Robin Jund, reminded of the importance of the financial and moral support it provides to students. Delphine Buguet, Vice-President of the Alumni Association, then welcomed the new members of the great family of graduates before inviting Lucile Vauquoy to take the stage once again to share her inspiring speech!

Both ceremonies concluded with the traditional tossing of hats, symbolizing joy and success, followed by a festive cocktail in the presence of relatives and families. In the evening, the graduates’ gala organized by the Student Union offered all graduates the opportunity to end the day in rhythm and beauty.
